Funeral Services for Ruth E. Charleston will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska. Interment will follow at the Prairie Home Cemetery at Holdrege.

Ruth Elizabeth Charleston, 89 years of age, of Papillion, Nebraska, formerly of Holdrege and Denver, Colorado, died on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Nebraska Medicine – Bellevue in Bellevue, Nebraska. Ruth was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, to John and Lillian McQueen. She married Lee Charleston on Oct 12, 1951 in Columbus, Indiana.

Lee and Ruth raised their family in Holdrege and later resided in Aurora, Colorado. Ruth was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, of which she had many friends.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Lee; sisters Adah, Blanche and Hazel; and two daughters: Wanda Lee in infancy and Gina Marie, at age four.

She is survived by; a sister, Juanita "Babe" Brunnemer of Indiana; daughter, Laura Lee Charleston; a son, Mike Charleston (Christine); grandchildren Andrew, Matthew, Timothy (Diane), Erinne and Caelan; great-granddaughter, Isla; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

A memorial has been established in Ruth's honor and will be designated at a later date.
