Private Family Celebration of Life Services for Ruth Y. Corbin will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. at her son's home in Colorado.

Ruth Yvette Corbin, 60 years of age, of Oxford, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege, Nebraska. She was born on May 25, 1959 at Mattoon, Illinois, the youngest of two daughters born to Raymond Paul and Neva Lee (Vaughn) Eaton. She attended school in Long Beach, California, graduating from Polytechnic High School, and then attended college for two years.

While living in Oxford with her daughter and granddaughter, Ruth did sales for a successful printing company based out of Colorado for the past ten years. She loved working from home as it gave her the freedom to set her own schedule, and focus on what mattered most to her; family and friends.

Ruth's whole life centered around her family. She had a huge heart, and was loved by everyone who met her. Her favorite things to do were hanging out with family and friends. She had an amazing sense of humor, and was always quick to make someone smile. Ruth loved the mountains, riding her motorcycle, and playing pool. She had such a kind and generous spirit. She was always the one everyone could turn to no matter what.

Ruth is a shining example of what hard work, and dedication can earn a person in a lifetime. She was a great listener, a great mother, a great friend, an incredible cook, and always gave sound advice. Ruth loved to spend her free time "crafting." She loved to scrapbook, create seasonal decorations, gifts, and lovely photo albums. She let her creative side show in everything she did. Ruth may have been a big softie, but under it all she was one of the strongest people. She was fiercely loyal, and independent with a stubborn streak a mile long when it came to her children. Anyone who knew Ruth, knew she loved her family immensely, and with all her heart. She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

She is survived by her three children: Raylene Slack and her husband, Martin of New Mexico, James Berkley and his wife, Tracy of Sheridan, Colorado, and Stephanie Branham of Oxford; five grandchildren: Dylan Berkley; Navarre Slack; Kyleah Branham; Roan Slack; and Caleb Berkley; her sister, Ruby Grant of Florida; and her dog, Koda; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

There will be no visitation, the family is honoring her wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in Ruth's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
