Memorial Services for Sally A. Johnson will be conducted from the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska on Friday, November 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Dale Lambert officiating. Private family inurnment will be held at the Prairie Home Cemetery at Holdrege, prior to the services.

Sally Ann Johnson, 81 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska. Sally was born Christmas Day on December 25, 1929 on the family farm north of Funk in Phelps County, Nebraska, the third of four children born to Bernard "Jim" and Luella (Markward) Lilyhorn. She received her primary education the District #11 Prairie Rose School north of Funk and then graduated from Holdrege High School with the class of 1947.

On June 27, 1952 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Carl Johnson and to this union five children were born: Grace, Nancy, Carl, Walter and Janice. The family made their home in Holdrege, where Sally was employed by Becton-Dickinson for fifteen years until her retirement. On June 9, 2000 she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Holdrege. Sally enjoyed sewing, was an excellent cook, loved coffee time with all of her friends and spending time with her family.

Besides her parents and husband, Sally was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael Lebeau; two brothers: Daryl and Franklin "Gary"; and one sister, Bernadine Renken and her husband, Bill.

She leaves to mourn her passing her three daughters: Grace Parkis of Princetown, Texas, Nancy Lebeau of Holdrege, and Janice Helleberg of Holdrege; two sons: Carl Johnson of Lebanon, Missouri and Walter Johnson and his wife, Melody of Holdrege; eleven grandchildren: Donald, Richard, Megan, Nicholas, Jessica, Andrew, Jim, Benjamin, Lisa, Renn and Cory; a host of great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

There will be no visitation, the family is honoring Sally's wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in her memory and will be designated at a later date.
