Memorial Mass for Sherry McLellan will be conducted from the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Orleans, Nebraska on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Harlan Waskowiak, officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery at Orleans.

Sheryl Lee "Sherry" McLellan, 63 years of age, of Orleans (formerly of Bullhead City, Arizona and Beatrice, Nebraska) passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at her home in Orleans. Sherry was born July 7, 1946 at Pasadena, California, the daughter of Francis and Dolores (Fitch) Colgan.

On March 11, 1972 she was united in marriage to Stephen McLellan in Long Beach, California. Sherry began working as a computer programmer before the couple moved to Montpelier, Vermont. Sherry and Stephen made their home in Casa Grande, Phoenix and Bullhead City, Arizona before moving to Orleans, Nebraska.

Sherry and Stephen moved to Orleans for their retirement. Sherry's father, Francis was from Orleans and she wanted to return to the place she called home. She had a strong love for her family as well as her pets. She would often open her home to strays and call them her own.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Sherry leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Stephen of Orleans; daughter, Jennifer Steed and her husband, John and grandsons: Brian, Kyle and Matthew of Orleans, daughter, Lori Severn and her husband, Bud and granddaughter, Kaley of Thurman, Iowa; sister, Bernadette (Colgan) Schmidt of Lincoln, Nebraska; and nephews: Jason, Ryan and Tyler Schmidt.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial has been established in her memory and will be designated at a later date.
