A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Stevan Anderson will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Daren Popple officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege.
Stevan Leroy Anderson, 83 years of age, of Funk, passed away, on Friday, January 26, 2024, at his son's home near Minden. Steve was born in Holdrege on December 29, 1940, to Gilbert L. and Marjorie (Roper) Anderson. He received his education from Orleans, Axtell, and Holdrege Public Schools.
On March 8, 1970, Steve was united in marriage to Carol Chase at the Fridhem Lutheran Church in Funk and to this union three children were born: Stevan "Wade", Lauri, and Carrie. The couple made their home in Funk. Stevan ran a wrecker service until 1975, then they moved to Orleans. He then began building grain bins. The couple would later divorce.
Steve enjoyed hunting and going to the lake, as a younger man, collecting anything brass, collecting many other antiques, and tinkering with vehicles. He also enjoyed welding and fabricating different projects.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Lauri Anderson; and his siblings: Lee Anderson; Alice "Jonnie" Huff; Myra Otto; Charles Anders; Joan Dyke; and Donald Anderson.
He is survived by his children: Wade Anderson and Kristi Effenbeck of rural Minden, Nebraska; and Carrie Anderson of Kearney, Nebraska; five grandchildren: Spencer, Cale, Skylar, Orion, and Keziah; one sister: Linda Zabel; along with other relatives, and friends.
There will be no visitation or memorial book signing.
A memorial has been established in Steve's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
