Memorial Graveside Services for Steven M. Eschen will be held on Monday, August 31, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Wilcox Cemetery at Wilcox, Nebraska with Pastor Craig Cedar officiating.
Steven Michael Eschen, 68 years of age, of Wilcox, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 22, 2020, at his home in Wilcox. Steven was born on April 22, 1952, at Ogallala, Nebraska, to Edwin Gale and Pearl Annette (Anderson) Eschen. Steven received his primary education from Ogallala Elementary School and then later received his GED.
On September 2, 1972, he was united in marriage to Susan Diane Lehl at Paxton, Nebraska. This union was blessed with one daughter, Melissa. Steven began working with his brother-in-law, Ray, for B and W Construction. The family then moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, and Steven worked as a sous chef for different casinos. In 2004, the family began to make their home in Wilcox.
Steven enjoyed cooking, playing Keno and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Albert and Garnet Lehl; two brothers: Larry Eschen; and Richard Eschen; a brother-in-law, John Lehl; a sister-in-law, Linda Lehl; and two nieces: Heather and April.
Steven leaves to celebrate his life; his wife, Susan Eschen of Wilcox; daughter, Melissa Marshall of Culbertson, Nebraska; four grandchildren: Tyler Tucker of Arapahoe, Nebraska; Brandon Tucker of Culbertson; Brittany Rath of Virignia Beach, Virginia; and Erika Tucker of St. Cloud, Minnesota; two great-grandchildren: Eliza Pearl Rath of Virginia Beach and Sabrina Annette Tucker of St. Cloud;
one brother, Bill Eschen of Kearney, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Ray Lehl of Paxton; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
There will be no visitation or viewing. They are honoring Steven's wish for cremation.
