Memorial Mass for Susan K. Paulak will be held on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. John's Catholic Church in Smithfield, Nebraska with Father Thomas Lux as Celebrant. Inurnment will be held in the Highland Cemetery at Bertrand, Nebraska, following the Mass.

Susan K. Paulak passed peacefully on March 14, 2018 in Lincoln, Nebraska, after nearly 80 years of joyful and vibrant living. Suzy was born in Holdrege, Nebraska and raised in Bertrand, but then lived all over the country before settling back in Nebraska to raise her family. She worked for the Defense Department, as a photographer's assistant and she worked as a nurse in nursing homes. Lastly, she spent nearly a decade as a house mother to hundreds of college boys in Alpha Gamma Sigma and Phi Delta Theta fraternities at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. In many ways, Suzy was a house mother to everyone she ever knew or worked with.

Suzy was married to Robert Paulak and raised four children. Everyone that met her, knew her as a lively conversationalist and friendly listener. She also loved to: entertain, watch everyone's sporting events, give advice and support every community in which she lived.

Suzy was preceded in death by: her husband, Bob; and her sister, Mickey Flanagan.

She is survived by; her sisters:   Marilyn Fowler of Bertrand, and Sally Burt of Lincoln; her children: Pete Paulak and his wife, Cindy of Kansas City, Missouri; Eric Paulak and his wife, Cynthia of Boulder, Colorado; Robb Paulak and his wife, Trang of Pasadena, California; and Mary Angelakis and her husband, Nick of Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania; 11 grandchildren: Pete's children: Sydney & Samantha; Eric's children: Slater and Magnus; Robb's children: Andrew and Amanda; and Mary's children: Agapi, George, Zoe, Max and Van.

A rosary will be recited on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at the Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home, 4040 A Street, Lincoln, Nebraska. There will be no visitation. The family is honoring her wish for cremation.
