A Memorial Service for Suzetta O. Beket will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. at the Moses Hill Evangelical Covenant Church in rural Loomis, Nebraska with Pastor Brad Perry officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
Suzetta Otilia Beket, 73 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Christian Home Care Community at Holdrege. Suzetta was born on November 23, 1949, in Reitz, Republic of South Africa, the fifth of six children, born to Christiaan and Suzetta O. (Van Rooyen) Boshoff. She was raised in Reitz and graduated from high school in 1968. Suzetta pursued higher education from Bloemfontein, Teacher's College at Orange, Free State, Republic of South Africa. Suzette then taught in South Africa until 1982.
In 1979, Suzetta was united in marriage to Pieter Beket. The couple was blessed with one daughter, Odette.
In 2006, the family emigrated to the United States. Suzetta began working at Christian Homes Care Community and later at Holdrege Memorial Homes.
She was a member of Moses Hill Evangelical Covenant Church. Suzetta enjoyed cooking, baking, and sewing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Millie Helm.
Suzetta is survived by her husband, Pieter Beket of Holdrege; her daughter, Odette Martin and her husband, Charles of Groveland, Florida; two grandchildren: Petra and Charles; brother, Chris Boshoff; three sisters: Antjie Nel; Lilian Meintjies; and Marlene Loggenberg; along with nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many friends.
There will not be a visitation or viewing.
