A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Tallon Louthan will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska with Rev. Dr. W. Kirwin Stewart, Jr. officiating.

An inurnment with Military Honors will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery, Holdrege. Following the inurnment, there will be a fellowship and luncheon at the Loomis Community Building, Loomis, Nebraska.

Tallon Robert Louthan, 50 years of age, of Boynton Beach, Florida, formerly of Loomis, Nebraska, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at his home. Tallon was born on June 26, 1974, in Charleston, South Carolina, the eldest of two children born to Rick and Becki (Pacheco) Louthan. The family made their home in Kearney, Nebraska; Oxnard, California; and Holdrege, Nebraska; before settling in Loomis in 1983. Tallon then attended Loomis Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1992.

Following graduation, Tallon enlisted in the United States Navy and attended basic training at RTC Great Lakes Illinois. He was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia, before being deployed to the Middle East on the USS LABOON DDG-58. As a Fire controlman, he was trained in Advanced Tomahawk Missile Systems and was part of Operation Desert Strike against Iraq in September 1996. He was awarded many medals and attained a ranking of FC1 before he was honorably discharged in October 2002. He continued to serve his country as a member of the US Naval Reserve for two years.

On December 8, 2001, Tallon was united in marriage to Misty Albertie at the Woman's Club of Norfolk, in Norfolk, Virginia, and they made their home in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Following his discharge from the Navy, Tallon worked as an electric technician for Koch Industries, Inc., which relocated them to Clearbrook, Minnesota, then to Alton, Illinois, when he was promoted to lead tech. After working for Koch for five years, Tallon accepted a contract job at Allstate, as the couple made the move to Bartlett, Illinois, for Misty's job. There, they were blessed with one daughter, Amelia, before the family eventually moved to Boynton Beach, Florida. Tallon continued to work at Allstate full-time as a managing architect and had received his 15-year service pin.

Tallon loved being a father and Amelia was the light of his life. They enjoyed movie nights, playing games, building Lego sets, and listening to music together, especially on the extensive collection of record albums he had. After Amelia and her mom moved to Orlando, Tallon remained a dedicated dad, attending every one of her events, no matter how big or small, and his weekly phone calls with her took priority over anything else he was doing. He was immensely proud of the young lady she was becoming and would talk about her every chance he could.

Tallon was a bit of a car and motorcycle enthusiast. He had an extraordinary passion for unique, wheeled vehicles and machines with soul and clearly could find beauty in what the rest of us would consider "odd junk." He had endless knowledge and could spend hours talking with anyone who was willing to listen and share in that passion. That enthusiasm and passion got him into trouble on occasion as well, as he tended to show off a bit when behind the wheel, especially in empty school parking lots!

He will be remembered for his intelligence, as well as his quick wit and sarcasm. While he was knowledgeable on many topics and was famous for his long conversations, Tallon appreciated the humorous side of life, and was always ready with a smart reply to fit any situation. He loved to tease those he cared about, and never took himself too seriously.

Tallon had many interesting experiences throughout his life and was able to check off several "bucket list" items: jungle survival training in the Amazon, driving a Ferrari (on two separate occasions!), witnessing the famous "Bullit" Mustang auctioned off in person, and getting his private pilot's license. Tallon was an avid motorcycle rider and had ridden through 29 states by bike. He was 1 of 100 Chicago-area riders selected for the Cycle World Magazine's Ten Best Riding Experience of the Ducati Diavel, and later purchased a Ducati of his own. He also continued to serve others as a member of Team Rubicon and was active in several local projects in the Palm Beach area. As a "Greyshirt," he trained to become an instructor to other volunteers and enjoyed participating in meet and greet social events to promote the organization.

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Robert Louthan, Patricia Louthan, John & Esther Gonzales, and Frank & Lupe Pacheco; uncles: Larry Louthan, John Louthan, and Randy Louthan; aunts: Terri Settlemire and Rosemary Rosenquist; and a cousin, Thaddeus Louthan.

Those left to celebrate his life include:  his daughter, Amelia Louthan and her mother, Misty Louthan of Orlando, Florida; sister, Jennifer Kasl and her husband, George of Dorchester, Nebraska; nieces: Cassidy Bruha and her husband, Brandon; Emma Kasl & Landon Scott; Quinn Kasl and Kendall Kasl, all of Dorchester; aunts: Bonnie Louthan of Durham, North Carolina; Cherri Gentzler and her husband, Tom of Indianola, Iowa; Marilyn Louthan of Holdrege, Nebraska; and Jovie Cosens and her husband, Michael of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Great-nieces, Aleah Wendelin and Emerson Scott of Dorchester, Nebraska, along with many extended family members and friends.

There will not be a visitation, viewing or memorial book signing the evening prior to the service. The family has honored Tallon's wish for cremation.

Memorials in Tallon's honor are suggested to the family for later designation.
