Tammie, age 58, of Stamford, Nebraska, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 8, 2019, at the Harlan County Health System in Alma, Nebraska. Tammie was born June 24, 1960 in Red Cloud, Nebraska, to Norman and Regina (Krichau) Karr. She attended Bladen Public Schools and graduated from Bladen High School in 1979.
Tammie married Frank Strickland on February 7, 1981 at the Congregational Church in Red Cloud. The couple made their home in Stamford and was blessed with three children: April, Frank Jr., and Ashley.
Tammie was a thoughtful and generous wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and decorating, especially for Christmas. Her fun-loving personality made every holiday a wonderful family celebration. She dreamt up homemade costumes for Halloween, made a plentiful Thanksgiving spread, and prepared imaginative candy platters for Christmas. In doing so she created happiness for all around her. Her heart shown through in the joy she felt in helping others make the most of their time spent together.
Tammie also shared a love for scrapbooking, landscaping, and camping. Like her family and friends, she made sure her dog, Petey, and 'grand-dogs' were spoiled with her affection every single day. Tammie's spirit now lives in memories her family will cherish forever.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers: Darrell Karr, Craig Karr, and Jeffrey Karr.
Tammie leaves to celebrate her life her husband, Frank Strickland Sr., of Stamford; three children: April Strickland-Apolius of Blue Hill, Nebraska; Frank Strickland, Jr. and his wife, Shelly of Holdrege; and Ashley Strickland and husband, Robert of Omaha, Nebraska; four grandchildren: Lexi, Brett, Athan, and Tayleigh; one brother, Garold Karr and his wife, Cheryl of Hastings; three sisters: Charlene Reiman and her husband, Gary of Blue Hill; Pamela Karr of Blue Hill; and Patty Karr of Blue Hill; sisters-in-law: Connie Karr of Hastings, Nebraska; Mary Ann Karr of Grand Island, Nebraska; Cindy Eckhardt of Seward, Nebraska; Janet Jensen and her husband, Jim of Holdrege; Sandy Urbina and her husband, Jim of Franklin, Nebraska; brothers-in-law: Tom Strickland and partner, Laura Hughes of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and Ron Strickland and his wife, Annie of Riverton, Nebraska; other relatives and many, many friends.
