Terry L Kugler

A Memorial Service for Terry Kugler will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege, Nebraska, with Reverend Kenton Birtell officiating. An inurnment will be held at the Elwood Cemetery, Elwood, Nebraska, at a later date.

Terry Lee Kugler, 76 years of age, of Bertrand, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at CHI Health – Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska. Terry was born on November 24, 1947, at Elwood, Nebraska, the youngest of two children born to Theodore "Max" and Beulah M. (Robb) Kugler. Terry grew up and was raised near Loomis, Nebraska, and attended school at Bertrand Public School.

On December 22, 1967, he married Judy Case in Gordon, Nebraska.  The couple made their home in Evans, Colorado and were blessed with three sons:  Scott, Robert, and Bill.  Later the family made their home in Loomis and Terry worked as a custodian for Loomis Public Schools for many years.

He was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bertrand, where he was baptized and confirmed when he was younger.  Later, the family began attending Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege.

Terry enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting with his dogs.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and later his great-grandchildren.  In his free time, Terry enjoyed restoring antique guns and collecting military artifacts.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Myrna L. (Robb) Osborne.

Terry leaves to celebrate his life; his wife, of 57 years, Judy Kugler of Bertrand; three sons:  Scott Kugler and his wife, Nikki of Bertrand; Robert Kugler and his wife, Joey of Bertrand; and Bill Kugler of Kearney; four grandchildren:  Taylor Kugler and wife, Tasha Doolittle-Kugler of Port Orchard, Washington; Jared Kugler and wife, Allie Novak-Kugler of Holdrege; Elizabeth Kugler of Bertrand; and Danielle Kunert and husband, Jeremy of Exeter, Nebraska; six great-grandchildren:  Ian, Savannah, Ivan, Ryker, Mila, and Charlie; two sisters-in-law, Donna Gentry of Lowell, Indiana; and Cathy Kuxhaus and husband, Monty of Pendleton, Indiana; along with other family members and friends.

A memorial book signing will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.

A memorial has been established in Terry's honor and kindly suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
