Terry Stadler

A memorial service for Terry Stadler will be held on Monday, June 16 at 10:30 a.m. at the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 1419 East Ave. Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Kenton Birtell officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege.

Terry Stadler joined his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 14, 2025 in Tyler, Texas. He was born on May 4, 1949 in Holdrege, to parents Elmer and Sally (Parks) Stadler.  He was raised in Holdrege, graduating from Holdrege High School in 1967. A highlight of his youth was water skiing at Johnson Lake with friends. He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and graduated from Kearney State College with a bachelor's degree. He joined his father and brother in business at Claussen's Shoe Store managing stores in Holdrege and Kearney.

He was married to Candy Anderson on February 14, 1970 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege, where he had been baptized and confirmed. To this union three children were born: Andy, Libby and Phil. The consummate family man found joy in anything and everything they did. They were raised to fear and love God and live in the promise that they had been saved by grace through faith in Him.

He enjoyed performing in many Kearney Community Theatre productions as well as singing in "The Company" group. In 1989, the family transitioned to Rialto, California where he taught middle school English for 12 years. He continued his teaching career in Texas, where he eventually retired to enjoy his bird feeders and all his winged visitors along the way, gardening, filmography as well as traveling. He had fellowship with many friends in Sunday school at Colonial Hills Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas, where he was united in marriage to Faye Dollar on September 2, 2007.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Candy in 1999; and mother-in-law, Marlys Anderson.

He is survived by his wife, Faye Dollar of Tyler, Texas; son: Andy (Cherie) of Columbus, NE, their children: Paige (Mark) and Grant (Rebekah), Great grandchildren: Maria, Ava and Edwin; his daughter: Libby (Bob) Hernandez of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, their children, Danica and Gianna; son: Phil of Upland,CA and his child, Trinity; step-daughter, Toni (Darren) of Cancun, Mexico; brother, Kent (Normalee) of Lincoln, NE; niece, Sara; nephew, Matt; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
