Theresa Boyd

A Funeral Service for Theresa Boyd will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Christian Homes Care Community Chapel at Holdrege, Nebraska, with Pastor Darren Theesen officiating.  A private interment will follow at the Prairie Home Cemetery, Holdrege.

Theresa A. Boyd, 85 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Christian Homes Care Community at Holdrege. Theresa was born in Brooklyn, New York, on June 5, 1940, the eldest of six children born to Alexander and Mary (Deegan) Frederick. She received her education from Bushwick High School in Brooklyn.

Theresa was united in marriage to John D'Amato in Brooklyn, New York.  The couple lived in Marlboro, New York.  They were blessed with four children:  Ellen, Theresa, Anthony, and Valerie.

Theresa was united in marriage to Jack Boyd at Marlboro, New York.  The couple moved to Holdrege in 1987, to be near family.

She enjoyed watching Husker Football and NASCAR, especially watching Kyle Larson.  Theresea enjoyed attending auctions, traveling, road trips, cooking, spending time with and caring for her family and grandchildren; and family game nights.  When she was younger, she enjoyed roller skating and having conversations with everyone.

Theresa worked for Holdrege Memorial Homes and Christian Homes Care Community.  She was proud military mother, patriotic, and a proud American.

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings: Patricia (Marion E. "Bud") Wilson; John Fredericks; Kathy Meyer; and Dorothy Fredericks.

She leaves to celebrate her life: her children:  Ellen Peeler and her husband, Patrick of Louisville, Georgia; Theresa Marie D'Amato of Elks Grove, California; Anthony D'Amato of Holdrege; and Valerie D'Amato of Holdrege; six grandchildren:  Josh Peeler; Brandon, Ashley, and Kenny Perkins; and Austin and Anthony D'Amato; three great-grandchildren; her sister, Monica Fredericks of Callaway, Nebraska; a brother-in-law, Dennis Meyer of Fort Riley, Kansas; along with other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
