A visitation for Theresa Dunse will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Bauer-Torrey & Mach Funeral Home in Alma, Nebraska, with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 pm. Following the visitation, cremation will take place.
A Memorial Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 3:00 pm at the Alma Cemetery, with Mr. Gary Janssen officiating.
Theresa Alice (Weber) Dunse, 73 years of age, of Alma, died on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Harlan County Health System in Alma. Theresa was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, on December 19, 1952, the eldest of seven daughters, born to George David and June Patricia (Swanson) Weber. She was baptized on December 26, 1952, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Lincoln. Theresa received her first communion on June 10, 1962, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lincoln and was confirmed on February 16, 1965, at St. Vincent DE Paul in Seward, Nebraska. She received her education from Ogallala High School.
On April 15, 1972, Theresa was united in marriage to Gary Dunse at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sidney, Nebraska. The couple made their home near Huntley, Nebraska. They were blessed with four sons: Brent, Nate, Travis, and Michael.
Theresa worked at Christian Homes Care Community and Holdrege Memorial Homes as a Med Aid and medical support personnel, for many years. She also worked at Good Samaritan Society Colonial Villa in Alma.
Theresa enjoyed gardening and landscaping but not mowing! She enjoyed attending her son’s activities and later her grandchildren’s activities, especially wrestling and softball. She enjoyed researching her genealogy and loved to go shopping for jewelry and especially enjoyed finding a good bargain. She enjoyed spending time at the cabin with her friend Suzanne.
Theresa was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws: Phillip and Marie Dunse; and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Ed Frerichs; Dave Repenning; Maynard Dunse; Isla and Leon Kreiner; and Phyllis and Bob Osterlund.
Theresa is survived by her sons: Brent Dunse and partner, Dawn Hetrick of Huntley, Nebraska; Nate Dunse of rural Republican City; Travis Dunse and wife, Gina of Alma; and Michael Dunse and wife, Amanda of Huntley; her ex-husband and friend, Gary Dunse of Huntley; daughter-in-law, Dena Dunse; eight grandchildren: Josa and Ava; Gavin, Ian, and Sophia; Michael, Jocelyn, and Kaydense; her siblings: Georgia Frerichs of Arizona; Virginia Repenning of Montana; Norma Hays (Allen) of Oxford; Sharon Talbert (Bill) of Heartwell, Nebraska; Janice Weber of Beaver City, Nebraska; and Gloria Nelson (Marvin) of Holdrege; in-laws: Roberta Dunse of Minden, Nebraska; Allen Dunse (Missy) of Florida; and Rhonda Cope (Glen) Missouri; along with nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Memorials are kindly suggested to the family for future designation.
