Tom received his primary education until 3 rd grade at Kenwood School in Kearney and later, completed his education at Amherst Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1974.
After high school, Thomas began working at the New Holland Manufacturing Plant in Lexington, Nebraska, eventually transferring to Sperry New Holland in Kearney, as a Parts Manager. He remained in that position through several company acquisitions, loyally serving countless customers throughout Nebraska and northern Kansas. Due to health concerns, Thomas retired from the Titan Machinery store in Holdrege in 2017.
In May of 1976, he was united in marriage to Patricia Abels and to this union three children were born: Timothy Alan, Christina Dawn and Michelle Ann.
In February of 2006, he was united in marriage to Lori (Post) Sell and the couple made their home in Holdrege.
Tom was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church in Holdrege, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #3132 of Holdrege, and was a volunteer fireman for Amherst. Tom was a motorcycle enthusiast and loved going on long rides with his family and friends. He enjoyed cheering for the Husker football team, attending NASCAR and NHRA races, and being amongst friends around his fire pit. Most of all, Tom loved his family and treasured the times spent with his children and grandchildren.
