A Memorial Service for Thomas J. Gaburo will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Alma, Nebraska with Father Maurice Current officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Orleans, Nebraska.
Thomas John Gaburo, 72 years of age, of Maricopa, Arizona, passed away, on Sunday, September 19, 2021, at his home in Maricopa, Arizona. Tom was born in Somerville, New Jersey on November 24, 1948, the second of two children, born to Alfred and Laura (Battistoni) Gaburo. Tom graduated from Somerville High School, with the class of 1966. Tom worked as a heavy equipment operator out of the Operating Engineers Local No. 428.
On April 9, 1994, Tom was united in marriage to Jodi (Tripe) Meinecke. The couple made their home in Maricopa, Arizona along with Tom's beloved companion, Bella.
Tom will be remembered for his stories, he never seemed to be without one. He spent many years in the Arizona outdoors and shared stories about his exploration of abandoned mines and multiple hikes into the Grand Canyon.
Tom was preceded in death by: his parents; brother Alfred Gaburo and nephew Scott Gaburo.
Tom is survived by his wife, Jodi of Maricopa; nephew, Al Gaburo and his wife, Margaret and their daughter Adele; niece, Hope Gaburo; sister-in-law: Denise Gaburo; Michelle Lembo; great nephews: Ian and Jesse Gaburo, all of New Jersey; father and Mother-in-law, Don and Shirley Tripe; brother-in law, Brad Tripe and his wife, Janna of Alma; nieces, Brianne Romeo and her husband, Justin of Oxford; Brook Tripe; and Troy Siebels of Oxford; great nephews and nieces: Rylan, Colson and Kimberli Romeo; and Harper and Teagan Siebels; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
