Thomas William Munn, 69 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, passed peacefully away on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at his home in Holdrege. Tom was born in Grand Island, Nebraska on May 8, 1948, the eldest of two sons born to William and Genese (Bennett) Munn. He attended elementary and high school in the Grand Island School systems, graduating in 1966 from Grand Island Senior High School. Tom spent many summers as a child with family in Missouri.

He attended and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln School of Pharmacy in 1971. This was the last year the University of Nebraska-Lincoln offered a Pharmacy degree. In 1971, Tom relocated in Holdrege, where he began working for Floyd and Donald Noble at Noble Drug. In 1986, Tom began working at Bethphage Mission at Axtell, Nebraska and worked there until 1993, when the Mission Pharmacy closed. In 1993, Tom began working for U-Save Pharmacy, and later began a partnership with Mike Fitch that lasted until his retirement. During his years of work as a pharmacist, Tom provided relief work at pharmacies in Minden, Ord, Kearney, Alma and Lexington. Tom was known around the community for his helpful and caring attitude at the pharmacy.

Tom married Carol M. Dyer on August 31, 1969 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alliance, Nebraska. To this union three children were born: Ryan, Travis and Jenny. He had a passion for hunting, the outdoors, and baseball; which he relayed to his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed many hunting trips in Canada, and had the joy of taking his boys with him on some of these trips. In the summer, you would either find Tom at one of his grandson's ballgames or fishing with them. In the hunting seasons, Tom could be found with one or more boys trying to find a turkey, deer, pheasant or quail. He enjoyed a special bond with his grandsons spending time with them in all their activities. Family was his focus in life, especially his grandchildren in recent years.

Tom was preceded in death by an infant son, his parents, grandparents, and brother, Myron Munn, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Esther and Doyle Dyer.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Munn of Holdrege; two sons: Ryan Munn and his wife, Brandi of rural Oxford, Nebraska, and Travis Munn and his wife, Cindy of Oxford; one daughter, Jenny Munn and her husband, Leland Rodewald of Holdrege; eight grandchildren: Graydon Munn, Lyndon and Brom Rodewald, Chelsey Bishop and her husband, Bryce, Branden, Jared, Cristian, and Lauryn Blincow; two great-grandchildren: Brydon and Bryndilynn Bishop; two sisters-in-law: Suzanne Munn of Beatrice, Nebraska and Betty Vaughn and her husband, Dale of Alliance; brother-in-law, Edward Dyer and his wife, Diane of Panama City, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
