Timothy Lynn "Tim" Rabe, 54 years of age, of Funk, Nebraska, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 25, 2020, at his home. Tim was born on October 30, 1965, at Holdrege, the youngest of four children to Clifford W. and Louisa M. (Woollen) Rabe. He received his education from Funk Community School through the eighth grade, and then graduated from Wilcox High School with the class of 1984. He then pursued higher education at Hastings Tech in Hastings, Nebraska.
Following his education, Tim returned home to the family farm in Phelps County near Funk, where he engaged in farming with his father. After his Dad's retirement, Tim continued his passion of farming, taking over the family farm.
In January of 1990, he was united in marriage to Rebecca Macke in North Platte, Nebraska, and to this union three children were born: Tanner, Kendra, and Mikayla. The family made their home on the farm south of Funk, where Tim provided for his family. He was a great father, who was always there for his kids.
Tim lived life to the fullest, and those who knew him will remember his hearty laugh! His friends were an important part of his life, and considered them to be family. He loved spending time at the lake; his favorite quote was, "No such thing as a bad day at the lake!" He also enjoyed his hobbies of boating, skiing, golfing, snowmobiling, and the open road on his motorcycle. Tim was also an avid Nebraska Husker fan, and his favorite color was "Husker Red."
The past few years, Tim enjoyed his membership at the First United Methodist Church in Holdrege. He was also a past member of the Wilcox Volunteer Fire Department. After grandchildren came into the picture, he loved the time spent with them.
Besides his parents, Tim was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles.
He leaves to celebrate his life; his three children: Tanner Rabe of Wenatchee, Washington; Kendra Vogel and her husband, Martin of Albion, Nebraska; and Kayla Rabe of Lincoln, Nebraska; three grandchildren: Brylee Rabe; and Raymond and Macke Vogel; his siblings: Jacque Reiser and her husband, Richard Moline of Omaha, Nebraska; Scott Rabe and his wife, Angie of Jay Em, Wyoming; and Randy Rabe and his wife, DeAnn of Bertrand, Nebraska; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorial Book Signing will be held on Monday, August 17, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.
A memorial has been established in Tim's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
