Memorial Graveside Service and Inurnment for Timothy Warneking will be held on Friday, July 31, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. at the Moses Hill Cemetery in rural Phelps County, Nebraska with Chaplain DeWane Dow officiating.
Timothy Dale (Tim) Warneking, 58 years of age, of Grand Island, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, at his residence in Grand Island. He was born on January 4, 1962, at Superior, Nebraska, the youngest of three children to Howard H. and Mary Lou (Hare) Warneking. He received his education from Loomis Public Schools, and graduated from Loomis High School with the class of 1980. Tim then pursued higher education from Kearney State College earning his a Bachelors Degree in Social Science with an emphasis in History.
Following his education, Tim was employed by the Postal Service in Grand Island. In 2006, he began working as an Operations Associate for Kohl's Department Store in Grand Island, where he worked until his passing.
Tim enjoyed watching sports that included: Husker Football and Volleyball, Hastings Sodbuster Baseball, Nebraska Danger Football, and Tri City Storm Hockey. The two sports he participated in were bowling and biking. For many years he could be seen riding his bikes for miles.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents; and many aunts and uncles.
He leaves to celebrate his life; his sister, Linda Brown and her husband, Kent of Axtell, Nebraska; brother, Lee Warneking and his wife, Virginia of Wood River, Nebraska; three nephews: Jeff Warneking and his wife, Emilie of Elkhorn, Nebraska; Brian Warneking and his wife, Vanessa of Omaha, Nebraska, and Dustin Brown of Axtell, Nebraska; one niece, Rachel Brown of Lincoln, Nebraska; 10 great-nieces and great-nephews; other relatives and friends.
The family has honored his wish for cremation. There will be no visitation or memorial book signing.
A memorial has been established in Tim's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
