Tina Marie (Hay) Peterson, 46 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, passed away on February 6, 2026, at Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Tina was born in Benkelman, Nebraska, on August 16, 1979, the second of three children, born to William and Iva (Miner) Hay. She received her education from Trenton Public Schools.
Tina and Kyle Pinkal were united in marriage, and together they had two children: Diablo "Dee" and Kassidy. The marriage later ended in divorce.
On February 23, 2024, Tina was united in marriage to Brett Peterson in Holdrege. The couple made their home in Holdrege, where Tina worked at Allmand Brothers.
Tina enjoyed knitting, doing arts and crafts, and cooking. She loved spending time outdoors and being in the water. She would go camping, swimming (the deeper the better), and tubing. Most of all, she relished spending time with her family, especially on game nights. You could often find her drinking a Dr. Pepper in her favorite hoodie and cracking jokes with a smart remark.
Tina was preceded in death by her parents and one grandchild, Kade Richards.
Tina is survived by her husband, Brett Peterson of Holdrege; children: Diablo "Dee" Pinkal and spouse, Andrew Richards of Lincoln, Nebraska; Kassidy Pinkal and spouse, Heidi Buettner and their son, Kooper Pinkal of Holdrege; siblings: Billy Hay and his daughter, Gracelyn Hay of Trenton; Jenny Johnson and her husband, Matt and their children, Emery, Parker, and Charlotte Johnson of Adel, Iowa; three sisters that she accepted as her own: Kristen Wirtjers; Stephanie Parde; and Ashley Parde; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Carrie and Mark Nelson of Holdrege; brother-in-law, Jeremy Hueftle, daughter Haylee and his wife, Larissa of Holdrege; along with other relatives, and friends.
A private visitation was held. Following the visitation, the family honored Tina's wish for cremation.
A memorial has been established in Tina's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
