Memorial Mass for H. S. "Tom" Kingsley, Jr. will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Father Rick Moon officiating. Private inurnment will be held at a later date.

S. "Tom" Kingsley, Jr., 88 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska. Tom was born March 1, 1930 in Minden, Nebraska, the eldest of two children born to H. S., Sr. and Genevieve (Langevin) Kingsley. Tom received his primary education from Bertrand Public School, graduating with the class of 1947. He pursued higher education and received a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
In 1951, he was inducted into the United States Army and served in France, during the Korean Conflict. He was later honorably discharged on June 17, 1953.
On June 30, 1951, he was united in marriage to Lois Roberta Norval in Lincoln. Their union was blessed with four children: H. S. "Tim", David, Liz and Nancy. The family made their home in Holdrege. Tom was a man of many talents; he owned and operated Kingsley Lumber and Redi-Mix; was the President of the Bank of Bertrand; and handled many business transactions with the shake of a hand.
Tom was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, the American Legion, and St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church in Holdrege.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing, reading, cooking, singing, acting and dancing.
Besides his parents and wife, Lois; he was preceded in death by; a brother, Lanny Kingsley; a brother-in-law, Roger Rocke; two sisters-in-law: Patricia Rocke and Barbara Wiltfang.
He leaves to mourn his passing; two sons: H. S. "Tim" Kingsley, III and his wife, Joyce of Wilcox and Dr. David Kingsley and his wife, Cathie of Kearney; two daughters, Liz Mattson and her husband, Larry "Rudy" of Funk and Nancy Oertle of Kearney; eight grandchildren: Christina (Mattson) Jacobs and her husband, Blake of Lincoln; Nicki (Mattson) Saint-Albord and her husband, Lopez of Funk; Samantha (Oertle) Klassen of Kearney; Kyle Oertle of Kearney; John Kingsley and his wife, Lindsay of Lawrence, Kansas; Jacob Kingsley of Omaha; Allie Kingsley of Lincoln; and Christopher Kingsley of Kearney; five great-grandchildren: Rihanna, Bradley, Devyn, Rivers and Gigi; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
There will be no memorial book signing or visitation. The family is honoring his wish for cremation.
A memorial has been established in Tom's honor and kindly suggested to the St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church in Holdrege.
