A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Valerie R. Myers-Johnson will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bertrand, Nebraska with Pastor Matthew Hacker officiating.  A private family inurnment will be held at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege, Nebraska at a later date.

Valerie Renee Myers-Johnson, 47 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at her home.  Valerie was born January 24, 1970 in Holdrege, the youngest of three children born to David and Margaret (Upson) Johnson.  She received her primary education in Bertrand and graduated from Bertrand High School with the class of 1988.

Valerie loved spending time with her children:  Martika and Stephen.  She was employed many years, cooking and working in food service.  She enjoyed being around friends and family, traveling, camping, and swimming.  Valerie was a self-proclaimed, "Movie Buff."

Valerie was preceded in death by; her daughter, Martika Johnson in 2011; grandparents:  Harold and Myrtle (Johnson) Upson and Herbert and Dora (Langenberg) Johnson; aunts; and uncles.

She leaves to celebrate her life; her son: Stephen T. Johnson of Holdrege; father, David Johnson of Holdrege; mother, Margaret Duffey of Bertrand; brother, David Johnson, Jr. of Bertrand; sister, Michelle "Shelly" Johnson of Holdrege; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

There will be no Memorial Book Signing or Visitation.  The family is honoring Valerie's wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in Valerie's honor and kindly suggested to the family, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, or Donor's Choice.
