Memorial Services for Vicky Lynn Reiber, 59 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, are pending and will be held at a later date.
Vicky Lynn Reiber was born on April 3, 1957 to Lannie and Janet (Metzger) Reiber in Denver, Colorado and passed away on January 19, 2017, at her home in Holdrege.
Vicky attended grammar school and Jr. High and Senior High in California and then Bloomfield, New Mexico. Following her education, she met and married Don Hammer in East Texas and was a house wife. She then relocated to Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, with that marriage ending, Vicky was a caregiver in the community. She then moved to Oxford, Nebraska and settled in Holdrege working in a computer store and later was a custodian for her church. Vicky attended North Park Assembly of God Church, and received the Lord at a young age.
Survivors include: her mother, Janet (Metzger) Smith of Truth Or Consequences; brothers: Stephen Reiber and his wife, Sharon of Geary, Oklahoma and Mark Reiber and his wife, Debbie of Farmington, New Mexico; and many nieces and nephews, other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: Joe and Sadie Reiber; maternal grandparents: Carol and Walter Metzger; her father, Lannie Reiber; brother, Alan Reiber; and sister, Darlene Sheldon.
There will be no visitation as the family is honoring Vicky's wish for cremation.
A memorial has been established in Vicky's honor and in lieu of flowers; the family asks donations be sent to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
