He served with the 134 th Infantry, 35 th Division, Company "I", of the United States Army, from 1941 to 1943.

On August 21, 1942, he was united in marriage to Laura Marie Seyler at the Presbyterian Church in Santa Monica, California.  To this union four children were born:  Judith, Ronald, Richard and Karen.  The family made their home south of Orleans, where they engaged in farming.  In 1983, they moved to Alma. Wayne continued actively farming for the next 30 years.

Wayne spent his life enjoying God's Creation, while farming.  He accepted the Lord as his Savior many years ago and joined the Alma Evangelical Free Church, where he served in many capacities.  He also served on the District #60 School Board, Township Board, 4-H and Extension Board and CO-OP Board.

He enjoyed many happy memories made with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  His heart's desire was that his family might know God and serve Him.

After their semi-retirement years, Wayne and Marie enjoyed winters doing volunteer work at Rio Grande Bible Institute and Bibleville Conference grounds in Southern Texas.  Wayne often said that this was the best time of his life with Marie.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marie; son, Richard Imm; sisters, Ernestine Imm, Estalene Geadelmann and Marjorie Holiday; eight brothers-in-law and six sisters-in-law.
