William Michael Davis, 23 years of age, of Van Buren, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2009 at the Pointer Trail Living Center in Van Buren. William was born December 30, 1985 at Kearney, Nebraska, the fourth of ten children of Steven S. and Nancy J. (Miller) Davis. He received his education from Norfolk, Nebraska until the family relocated to Van Buren, where William graduated from Van Buren High School with the class of 2004. He then pursued higher education at the University of Arkansas in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, where William's field of study was History. In October of 2005, William was involved in a motor vehicle accident with his family, where his mother, Nancy was tragically killed. He was hospitalized for a considerable amount of time and underwent extensive physical rehabilitation for eight months. William then was attempting to focus on life after the accident, until he was diagnosed with brain cancer in January of 2007. He became more actively involved in his church and was baptized in August of 2009. His family was amazed by his fight and courageous battle throughout his treatment.

He had a lifelong interest in music, enjoyed reading and loved spending time with his family, especially the little children of the family.

He leaves to mourn his passing his father, Steven of Van Buren; three brothers: Brian Davis and his wife, Katie of Holdrege, Joseph Davis and Isaac Davis both of Van Buren; five sisters: Laura Davis of Grand Island, Nebraska, Jessica, Caitlyn, Emma and Madeline Davis all of Van Buren; grandparents: Carol Davis of Holdrege and Lars Hampton of Holdrege; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Besides his mother, Nancy, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Emma Jane Hampton; grandfathers: Zach Miller and Marien "Smokey" Davis; infant brother, Christopher Davis and uncle, James Davis.

A memorial has been established in his memory and will be designated at a later date.
