She attended school in Sault St. Marie and graduated from Manistique High School.

She met the love of her life, Clifford Geiselman, a sweet Nebraska boy, while he was stationed at the Sault Locks during WWII. They were married on November 24, 1945 in her home, in Sault St. Marie and to this union two children were born: Nancy and Jeffrey. The couple made their home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and in June of 1952, the family moved to Holdrege, Nebraska where Cliff took over the running of the family farm north of Holdrege. In February 1965, Cliff died of a heart attack and Wilma moved shortly thereafter into town.

Wilma was employed in Willow Run and Detroit, Michigan, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Holdrege. During the war years in Detroit, she was a "Rosie Riveter" working on B24 bombers and was a seamstress apprentice for a tailor. She was employed in the Ad department at the DeSota Motor Company in Milwaukee. In Holdrege, she was employed as a secretary at Holdrege High School from 1966 to 1980 when she became secretary to the Superintendent of Schools. She retired from the Holdrege School system in 1983. She then was the owner/operator of the Credit Bureau of Holdrege from 1983 to 2006.

On April 1, 1983, Wilma was united in marriage to William "Bill" Allerheiligen of Hanover, Kansas and the couple continued to make their home in Holdrege. Bill passed away on January 21, 2006.

She was elected to the Holdrege City Council and served two terms, serving as Council president for one year and also served on the Board of Christian Homes and the Holdrege Senior Center. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women for 26 years and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for 12 years. She taught Sunday school and was chairman of Women's Ministries at Holcomb Evangelical Free Church. She was blessed with many friends in her community.
